WhatsApp introduces chat blocking with code on linked devices

Although Meta, WhatsApp's parent company, introduced the option to block chats last year, but they are still visible on linked devices. Now, the company is fixing this problem with a new feature.

One of the many features that came first to WhatsApp on iOS, before Android, was the option to lock chats. We're not talking Kazakhstan WhatsApp Number List about blocking contacts, but rather protecting chats with a password. The option was finally introduced to WhatsApp for Android in October of last year.

The problem arose when users logged into WhatsApp on one of the linked devices, where the chats that were supposed to be blocked were still visible. Meta is finally fixing it, as explained by WABetainfo experts.

To open the locked chats folder on a linked device, users will need to create a passcode. The app will issue a pop-up when an attempt Japan WhatsApp Number List is made to open a locked chat on the linked device. The message prompts the user to create a password for the folder on the primary device.

After setting the passcode, the blocked chats will disappear from the chat list. You will only be able to access them through this privacy feature on linked devices.

It is worth remembering that the feature is still in beta, so we will have to wait at least a few weeks for it to reach the official version. The truth is that this option is, without a doubt, one of the most requested add-ons by WhatsApp users, as it gives them a higher level of privacy.
